Camping at Gulkana

Over Memorial Day weekend we decided to go camping with some friends. I told Daylon I didn't care where we went I just wanted to go and take the boys out while we had a chance before we went back to the states for the summer. Daylon chose to to Gulkana up near Glen Allen.....don't ask me where that is for I am not a fan of Alaskan geography! We packed our things up and drove a little over 3 hours to enjoy 2 days of camping. The boys loved it they loved being dirty, eating things over the fire, playing in the fire, sleeping in a tent and most of all peeing outside. However, I learned a lot from camping this time like I don't like dirt, I don't like the smell of fire, I don't like to freeze in a tent at night, I don't like the lack of showering and most of all I learned camping for me is a Motel 6. I think next time I will stay home and enjoy a weekend to myself and let the boys have a father son camp out.

Braydon Letters

Braydon received a letter from Rilke Schule yes a letter. Because He has participated in 4 plays he got a letter. He was very proud and now he thinks he needs a letter jacket.....yeah I don't think so, he is only 7. During the awards assembly he also received his 120 Sprachmeister award and he also received one for Art.

Die Marksburg

Braydon acted once again in the school plaly. Once again the play was spoke all in german and all of the kids loved doing it. Ethan also had a part and I was the stage manager. This time Bradyon played a knight that went off to the crusades in medieval Germany. The Play was about a beautiful young woman named Elisibeth who was going to be married to a brave young knight named Sigbert. Sigbert went off to the crusades, man named Rochous came and told her that Sigbert had been killed. Elisabeth morned for her Sigbert but eventually found love with Rochous as he consoled her. Elisabeth and Rochous were set to be married but the night before Saint Markus came to Brother Markus (the priest that was going to marry the two) and told him that Rochous was the devil. Saint Markus gave Brother Markus a silver cross. During the marriage ceremony Brother Markus pulled out the cross and a big crack opened up in the floor and Rochous was swallowed up into it. Soon Sigbert came back and Elisabeth found out that Rochous was only lying about Sigbert Dying. Elisabeth and Sigbert were soon married and lived happily ever after.

It was the last play of the school year and all of the kids did a wonderful job.
